Who to draft

Well guys and gals, I don't know about you but I hope we Young is not an option by the time it comes for our pick. I don't want him. He may very well become a great NFL QB, but I doubt it.

Also I was reading SI and this Olympic Skier Jeremy Bloom has turned some heads when this white guy ran a 4.49 40. They say he will go in the 7th round. Personally I don't mind if we go the whole draft and not sign a WR.

"I think we have our starter, wouldn't you say?"

Joey Harrington is named the starter. If it turns out he is not the best man for the job... he looses it. But the simple fact that Millen and Marinelli have said he's the guy, this early in the off season is good IMO. This should squelch the QB controversy that seemed to swarm around the Lions in the off season last year. I think that hurt them in being productive. While I agree having a vet back up QB is a good thing (though I don’t like Jeff) but controversy is only good if you are a gangsta rapper.

Joey and the QB situation

First off, I think Joey has the potintial to be an amazing QB, I'm just not sure it's with this team. If Mucci was going to be back for another year I would vote to cut the kid. But, now that we have Martz. I'm interested to see how Joey will mesh with all the new coaches. I think that going after Drew Breese would be a smart move. Or hey... BRETT... wanna hope the fense for a season?

Coaches: I couldn't be more excited about the cards we have now guys! How about you? When I heard the rumor that the deal with Martz feel through, I was pretty upset and had the mentality of, 'oh well... we got 2 great ones that will help' but now... we have THREE!

Welcome!

Hello fellow Detroit Lions Fans and Welcome to our blog cast!

First off let me tell you a little about myself. I have lived the past handful of years near Kansas City, so I get the "and why are you a Lions fan?" all the time! Let's face it though folks, that’s a perfectly good question.

I reply simply with this: My father was in the military which caused us to move at least once every 3 years. When I started enjoying football, I was living in Germany. My family is from Oklahoma, which at the time was considered home. So the idea for rooting for the 'home' team was kinda out the window.

Deciding to pick the team I would root for had to come from the player base. After watching a good amount of games and highlight reels it came down to two players. Jerry Rice and Barry Sanders. While I still think Jerry is the best WR, Barry gets the GOAT award.

So I became a Lions fan. And through thick and thin... I have remained true.

That's a short introduction. In the off season I will be posting a little here and there, but mainly trying to get another Lion's project off the ground, stay tuned! :)
